About Natural North

Natural North began with a simple love of the outdoors—but looking back, that love didn’t start with me.

Growing up, I spent time with my family exploring the natural world in quiet, meaningful ways. I, and my grandmother, who held a special place in my heart. would go birdwatching together, then come back inside and flip through her books to identify what we’d seen. We baked, went for walks, picked blueberries, and sometimes spent nights on her sailboat—waking up to fresh berries with cream and sugar.

She was an artist who painted beautiful, detailed landscapes—shorelines, trees, and peaceful scenes from nature. She had a way of noticing the world that was patient, observant, and full of appreciation.

At the time, I didn’t realize how much those moments were shaping me.

Today, through my photography, and that of my husband, we find ourselves drawn to those same quiet scenes during our adventures—places that feel calm, reflective, and grounding. Natural North is a continuation of that connection: a way of sharing the beauty of Northern Ontario and the feeling of being present in nature.

Each photograph is original and thoughtfully chosen to bring a sense of inspiration, calm, and connection, or a little bit of joy, into everyday spaces—whether on a wall, in your hands, or as a meaningful gift.
